What’s happening in Term 1?

It is a busy start to the year in sport here at Bayswater North in 2018. Here are some of the highlights of what will be a fast paced and fun filled term 1.

Swimming…

Our grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 students will complete their annual Swimming Program at Kilsyth Centenary Pool Students will learn important survival skills as well as continuing to work on their freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke techniques. In addition to this some of our more gifted young swimmers will head to Tintern Grammar to compete in the Ringwood District Swimming Carnival.

Summer Sports…

Our grade 5 and 6 students will take part in our Summer Interschool Sports Program. Each Friday our students will play against a different school from within our district. With students competing in sports like Basketball, T20 Cricket, Tee-Ball, Volleyball, Tennis and Lacrosse there will be lots of fun and excitement for any parents wishing to come and have a look from 9.00am each Friday of term 1.

Grades 1 and 2 PE…

Our junior students are busy in class, currently completing modified units on athletics. Students will take part in events such as long jump, shot put, 100m sprint and hurdles, gaining valuable skills and experience that will put them in good stead for when they attempt more advanced athletic units as they enter the senior years of primary school.

Our new Preppies…

Our new Prep students will be learning lots of new and exciting skills in their first term of sport here at Bayswater North. Already they have shown what keen and enthusiastic people they are and have taken to their time in PE like ducks to water. I look forward to seeing them continue to grow and develop as the year continues.

A few wins and a few near misses… but a great deal of persistence and determination from every single one of our swimming team members today. Thanks to the mums and dads that came to support all of our children and to Tanya M for helping!
