Enrolment

The Department of Education has released an updated statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2025 school year.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Bayswater North Primary School.

All government primary schools will follow the timeline in 2024 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2025 school year.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Bayswater North Primary School from 15 April 2024.

To be able to enrol, all families must first visit https://students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ to create an account to be able to complete the online application form. Please ensure that all documents required are attached to the application.

More information regarding the enrolment process and timeline is outlined below:

1. Contact our school to book a school tour – we run regular tours on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 9:15 am, or by appointment.
2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available from 15 April 2024). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
3. Submit an enrolment application via https://students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/  for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.
4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 29 July and Friday 9 August 2024. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 23 August 2024.
5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
6. Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 29 January 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Transition 2025

Our Transition to Prep Program begins in Term 4, 2024 and is aimed at making each new Prep student feel comfortable, happy and eager to start the new school year in 2025. The program offers classroom sessions, a chance to meet their buddies and specialist teachers and, at the final session, allocation to their 2025 class and Teacher. You will receive more information about our transition sessions in Term Four, 2024.

Our school follows the Department of Education Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement and transfer of students.

Our School Zone

Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. To find out whether you live in zone, visit https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/

All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:

1. Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time
2. All other students in order of closeness of their home to the school

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
